Bhubaneswar, 31st  May 2016: The State Level Empowered Committee (S.L.E.C) Meeting led by Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Padhi on Tuesday has finalized the Action Plan for 2016-17, for modernization of police force in the state.

The Action plan for the current year, estimated at around Rs 29 cr., focused on modernization of arms, modern equipments for police operations, traffic management, upgradation of intelligence gathering system, CCTV surveillance, law and order surveillance, upgradation of communication system, upgradation of facilities for State CID, upgradation of fingerprint bureau, etc. The fund support will be provided by Central and State Govt on 60: 40 basis. Earlier the scheme was being funded on 75:25 ratios between Central & State Govt.

Director General of Police Kunwar Brajesh Singh said that the finalized action plan would be submitted to both the State and Central Govt for approval
