Bhubaneswar, 4 April 2015: AIIMS Bhubaneswar for the first time organised a live workshop relating to Gynaecological Endoscopy (GE), where six eminent doctors with expertise in the field of GE has conducted 11 surgeries in a day, in two Operation Theatres (OTs) with live transmission for the doctors.

“Through the GE, Gyaenic related complications post-surgery can be resolved without much hassles to the patient. AIIMS Bhubaneswar has been able to achieve the feat within a short span of time,” Prof. Dr. Ashok K Mohapatra, Director of the premier institute said.

The Gynaecological Endoscopic Live Surgery Workshop- “GET-2015” (Gynaecological Endoscopy Today) was organised on Saturday here by Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, in association with Endoscopy Committee, Federation of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) and the Bhubaneswar Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (BOGS)with the theme “Minimal Access maximal Benefit”.

Professional surgeons in the field of gynaecological endoscopy like Dr Hafeez Rahman (Kochi), Dr Uddhav Raj ( Mumbai), Dr SukhadiaMehul ( Ahmedabad), Dr SandeshKade ( Solapur), Dr SujalMunshi ( Ahmedabad) and Dr Bijoy Kumar Nayak, Dr Sujit Kumar Behera and Dr Pradip Kumar Panigrahi from Bhubaneswar conducted the surgeries with live demonstration to the doctors.

Surgeries for the workshop include, Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), laparoscopic myomectomy for fibroid uterus, laparoscopic Radical Hysterectomy for Cancer Cervix, laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy and laparoscopic Sacrocervicopexy for vault prolapse, Grade III/IV endometriosis resection, and laparoscopic metroplasty, hysteroscopic resection of uterine septum and hysteroscopicsynechiolysis of intra-uterine adhesions.

\r\n

Around 100 Delegates from various government and private medical colleges and hospitals of Odisha and outside Odisha attended this enriching workshop.
