Bhubaneswar, 21st July 2016: Three projects under Odisha State Road Projects (OSRP) out of total nine projects have been completed with assistance from the World Bank so far. This was revealed during the State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) meeting presided by Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Thursday.

Till date, total number of 9 projects stretching over 303 kms were taken up under OSRP. Out of this the road from Bhawanipatana to Khariar ( 65.2 km), from Berhampur to Taptapani ( 41.2 km) and High Level Bridge (2.8 km) over river Tel along with the approach road have been completed. Other 6 projects namely Jagatpur – Nicschintakoili ( 25 km), Nischintakoili-Duhuria (24 km), Duhuria-Chandbali (56.6), Anandapur- Bhadrakh ( 43.2 km), Bhadrakh-Pirahat ( 27.5 km), Pirahat-Chandbali ( 17.5 km) have been fast tracked.

Out of ongoing 6, the total estimated cost of first 4 projects comes around Rs 491 cr. These are in various stages of progress. The committee today vetted the tenders received for last 2 projects estimated around Rs.184 cr. Secretary Works Sri Pradhan said that these 2 tenders would be submitted before Cabinet for final approval.

The issues relating to land acquisition, removal of encroachments and availing statutory permissions were discussed and resolved in the meeting. Chief Secretary Sri Padhi advised Principal Secretary Revenue & Disaster Management Dr Mona Sharma present in the meeting for directing concerned Collectors and Tahasildars to ensure timely availability of sufficient quarries for these projects. The target has been fixed to complete all these projects by June, 2018 in various phases.
