Bhubaneswar, 12th July 2016: NABARD has listed out the priority areas for the current financial year 2016-17, which included augmentation of rural credit, mainstreaming of tenant farmers, formulation of aggregation models like producers’ organizations and raising farm income through building partnerships etc., that was conveyed by S. K. Kale, Chief General Manager and Officer in Charge of NABARD, Odisha Regional Office,on the occasion of its 35th Foundation Day on Tuesday here.

While appreciating the excellent cooperation extended by the State Government, banks, development agencies, and other stakeholders, he also indicated that since last two years, the state of Odisha has been sanctioned with highest amount of loan under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund for Infrastructure development in Agriculture, Irrigation, communication & social sector.

\r\n

In the beginning of the function, Dr K. C. Panigrahi, Chief General Manager, NABARD extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries & participants, and briefly mentioned about the roles and functions of NABARD during the last 34 years. He highlighted the major achievements of NABARD in the State of Odisha and apprised the gathering about the initiatives taken by NABARD in providing credit support and implementing developmental and promotional programmes during 2015-16.

Badri Narayan Patra, Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development, Government of Odisha was the Chief Guest on the occasion. G V Reddy, Chief General Manger, SBI & Anil Kumar, General Manager, UCO Bank & SLBC Convenor graced the occasion. Representatives from various State Government departments, banks and NGOs attended the function.
