Bhubaneswar, 12. 01.2017: The Utkal Chamber of Commerce & Industry in association with TAXOPEDIA Advisory Pvt. Ltd. conducted one day Conference on “GST – Opportunities and Challenges” on Tuesday here.

\r\n

The Inaugural Session was presided over by Brahma Mishra, Vice President (General) UCCI.  Key note address was given by Shyam Sundar Sonthalia, Director, Taxopedia Advisory Pvt. Ltd.

\r\n

Anand Kumar Satpathy, Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Odisha graced the programme as Chief Guest and inaugurated the GST Summery Publication. Satpathy appreciated the joint initiatives taken by both the organizations, UCCI as well as Taxopedia to aware about the implications and opportunities of application of GST by organizing such programmes.

In the Technical Session, CA Tarun Kr. Agarwalla, Chairman, Indirect Taxes Committee, UCCI and Anand Kr. Satpathy, Addl. Commissioner, briefed the members about the concept of Model GST Law including concept of CGST, SGST & IGST. They also briefed about Levy, Supply, Exemption from Tax and Place & Time of Supply of Goods and Services.

More than 120 participants, members and association members attended the Conference. Certificates were distributed to the participants.
