Bhubaneswar, 10th Jan 2016: Odisha has been recognized as a pioneer State in implementation of the ease of doing business during the last year.

In 2015, Odisha simplified the business processes to a large extent and many services were made online for convenience of the investors and entrepreneurs. Around 310 action points were carved out for the State during the last year targeting which the reform processes were initiated. Odisha’s performance was more than 90% in the score board for which State was recognized as a leader State in ease of doing business, according to an official release.

For the current year, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Govt of India has shared around 294 action points for next assessment. The action point has mainly emphasized on development of online systems for various services.

Chief Secretary Sri Padhi directed the departments to incorporate 5 main facilities in their respective online systems. These include detail information on the procedures and list of all documents needed, time line for delivery of services as defined under Public Service Delivery Act, system for online application, payment, tracking and monitoring of a business proposal without the need of physical contact, online delivery of the certificates, allowing third party to verify the approval certificates in the public domain etc.
