Package for Const. workers and PPP mode of Inv in Health Sec on the agenda

Bhubaneswar, 12th June 2017:  The ongoing collector’s workshop gave input on how to improve citizen centric service delivery here on Monday.

The workshop threw light on health services and hospitals where it suggested engagement of multipurpose lab technicians who can undertake various types of pathological tests, involving private players on PPP mode for running of the high cost diagnostic machines, online portal for monitoring of clinical establishments, adoption of mechanized cleaning in hospitals, providing revolving fund to GPs for sanction under Harischandra yojana, use of technology for raising alert and real time response system in hospitals , state wide campaign on effectiveness of Niramaya medicines, live messages from the people who have tested the effectiveness of Niramaya medicines, creating community resilience through active volunteer groups in the epidemic prone areas etc.

The deliberations pointed out matters like – universal registration of the construction workers across all blocks and districts so that they can access to services from anywhere in the State, decentralized sanction of benefits to the construction workers at the district level, registration of the workers on the basis of their self certification, introduction of  back ward survey from students to the parents, one month state wide intensive campaign for awareness and registration of the workers etc.

Government has made provisions for 11 different kinds of packages and assistances for construction workers. These include accident package, education benefit, medical treatment for ailments, maternity benefit, skill upgradation, tools & safety assistance, marriage assistance, bicycle assistance, death benefits and funeral assistance etc.

Among other areas the groups deliberating on urban services, youth welfare and skill development also made many useful suggestions.
