Bhubaneswar, 22nd Nov: The State’s total revenue generation from both tax and non-tax sources has grown around 9% by October end of current fiscal year over the corresponding period of last fiscal, according to official sources.

 Revenue generation from non-tax sources grew around 12.24% by end of October, 2019 in comparison to the corresponding period of the last year with a total collection of around Rs.7399 cr.  Similarly, the revenue generation from own tax sources also increased by 7.56% with a total collection of around Rs.17510 cr against last year’s collection of Rs. 16279cr.

The total revenue generation from both the sources by end of October 2019 has increased around 9% over the corresponding period of last fiscal.

Under non-tax sources, revenue generation from mining royalty and water rate increased around 11% and 46% respectively. The total collection from mining royalty was around Rs.6054.93 cr against last years’ collection of Rs.5436.54 cr by October end.

In real terms, the total revenue has touched Rs.24,909 cr by end of October, 2019. Keeping in tune with the revenue generation, the budget utilization by end of October grew around 16% over last fiscal year.

The total expenditure by October end of current fiscal was around Rs.60,848.21 cr against the last year’s expenditure of Rs.52, 525.40 cr.

Reviewing fiscal performances of various departments up to October 2019, Chief Secretary Sri Tripathy directed the departments to utilize at least 60% of the budget by end of December, in a review meeting on Friday.
