New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, 4th Dec : Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has sought Central Government intervention to resume the infrastructure development project at Angul Aluminum Project in the State, which has already been stuck midway.
It has been conveyed through an official communiqué by Pradhan to Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday.
An outlay of Rs 99.60 crore was estimated for the said project under the Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (MIIUS) of Government of India by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) with an assistance of Rs 33.44 crore has already been released by the Union Government on 18th August 2015, as mentioned in the official letter to Goyal.
An Implemeneting Agency (IA) Angul Park Private Ltd was formed to commission the said project in 2015. However, due to some or other reason the project got stuck and the IA was asked to return back the central assistance on 1st January 2018, the letter said.
Pradhan has requested the Union Minister for directing his department officials to again review the progress of the project and not to take back the central assistance of Rs 33.44 crore.
“The Indian Government is committed for development of State’s mines and economy”, Pradhan mentioned in his letter.
