Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government on Tuesday gave in principle approval to 22 projects that includes various public utilities and social housing schemes in Bhubaneswar, for which General Administration (GA) department was asked to expedite the work relating to allotment of land for the purpose, official sources said.

The Site Selection and land allotment committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati directed Principal Secretary GA Niten Chandra to expedite the proposed projects during a meeting at the state secretariat on Tuesday.

\r\n

Sri Pati has advised to make economic use of land by making realistic assessment of the requirement of land for various projects, offices, social housing schemes and residential complexes. The project proposers have been advised to raise their construction vertically on the minimum space. They have also been directed to ground the project and start real construction activities within one year of the allotment of land failing which the Government will review the allotment for cancellation.

Projects like social housing schemes at Dumuduma, besides social housing schemes in  Patrapada,   Bhagabanpur.   Subudhipur and  Paikrapur; construction of 33/11kv primary substation in Chandrasekharpur and Gadakana, construction of reservoir & pump house at Patrapada, developing of commercial center at Jharpada, Construction of Night Shelters in Bomikhal, Chandrasekharpur, Ghatikia and  Ashok Nagar,   establishment of  Urban PHC Under NUHM in Patia, Chandrasekharpur, Pokhariput, Ghatikia and  Samantapuri;  construction of Pumping Station at Mancheswar,  Baramunda, establishment of prefabricated fish selling kiosks,  construction of Vigilance Cell Unit and Staff Quarter in  Chandrasekharpur,  installation of 33/11 KV primary substation at Ashok Nagar , construction of Regional Office for Health & Family Welfare , Bhubaneswar;  Head Quarter Eastern Air Force for  creation of  Infrastructure  and associated facilities to undertake Disaster Relief Mission; construction of CBI Residential Complex in Chadrasekharpur and   construction of Court Guest House  at Bapuji Nagar  were approved in principle by the committee.

It has been decided that the lands will be allocated after getting details of the project from the project developers along with timelines for commencement and completion.
